We’re almost done with Covenant’s playtest adventure! Find out more below the fold.

Here’s what we want to talk about this week:

  • Our progress on the playtest campaign for Covenant
  • How to become a playtester

PLAYTEST CAMPAIGN

The download link for Covenant’s playtest rules has been clicked a total of 537 times since we set it up two weeks ago. That’s a lot of people who want to try the game. The problem is, we didn’t include an adventure in the playtest rules that they could use, you know, to playtest them.

That’ll be changing next week.

We are working on a a playtest adventure and hope to finish it by Monday. We already have a rough map and have generated nonplayer characters, and all we need to do now is do some writing and plot out contingency trees.

The playtest adventure’s map

In this adventure, the player characters will be captured by a group of slavers and held in an abandoned mining outpost before they’re sold. They need to escape before they’re sold, but the slavers are too powerful to fight in a head-on fight. The players will need to be sneaky and recruit allies within the slavers if they want to escape. The playtest adventure will give us a chance to test Covenant’s shakier or more experimental rules, like chases and damage from hunger and the environment.

We should have a rough version of it ready for play by Monday. However, it’ll probably take us a few weeks to polish it into something publishable. We’ll keep you updated.

BECOMING A PLAYTESTER

Have you downloaded Covenant’s playtest rules yet? If not, do it now! They’re free! All we ask is that you tell us what you think about them. You can send your feedback in two ways:

That’s about it for now. Talk to you next Friday!
