It’s a new week and a new bid in the bids appendix! See how you can use the Chasing bid for short races and chases in Covenant below the fold.

Race: Catch another character or beat her to a destination. Used for very short chases that can be resolved with a single bid.

  • To Accomplish:
    • Opposed Chasing bid vs. opponent’s Chasing, Athletics, Piloting, or Riding bid
    • Can be used for races:
  • Successful Bid:
    • The character catches xir opponent.
    • The character beats xir opponent to the destination.
  • Unsuccessful Bid:
    • The character’s opponent evades the character.
    • The character’s opponent beats the character to the destination.
  • Suggested Traits: Athletics, Agility, Chasing, Evasion, Movement, Piloting, Riding, Tactics, Trickery
  • Suggested Advantages:
    • The character is faster than xir opponent.
    • The character is closer to the destination than xir opponent.
    • The character’s opponent is being attacked or is under fire.
    • The character or xir allies try to stop xir opponent.
    • The character is familiar with the terrain where the chase takes place.
    • The character’s body is designed for the terrain where the chase takes place (EXAMPLE: a spider monkey swinging through a jungle’s canopy).
  • Suggested Disadvantages:
    • The character is slower than xir opponent.
    • The character is farther from the destination than xir opponent.
    • The character is being attacked or is under fire.
    • The character’s opponent or xir allies try to stop the character.
    • The character has injured or lost the use of xir arms or legs.
    • The character’s movement is restricted (EXAMPLE: by a net, shackles, rope, handcuffs, or another character).
    • The character is overburdened.

That’s it for now. Talk to you later.
